Governor Thornburgh and Three Mile Island

Recently, C-Span met with the Dick Thornburgh Archivist, Nancy Watson, who showed some of the papers of former Pennsylvania Governor and U.S. Attorney General Dick Thornburgh. The papers give insight into his time as governor during the incident at the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant, including minute by minute notes of the incident.

Governor Thornburgh

The Dick Thornburgh Forum for Law & Public Policy was established in 2007 at the late Dick Thornburgh’s Law School alma mater, the University of Pittsburgh. In conjunction with the Dick Thornburgh Papers held by the University's Hillman Library, the Forum reflects Dick's lifelong work in public service. The Forum is in intended to foster discourse on issues vital to the preservation of our democratic system and the Rule of Law upon which that system depends.
