Congratulations to Katherine Du!  


Katherine is a third year School of Medicine student at the University of Pittsburgh and is a founder of Mindful Exchanges, a global nonprofit that hosts free mental health seminars for youth in various communities, especially those who are under-served, underprivileged, or experience stigma, and has hosted youth mental health sessions over the last five years. 

Dick Thornburgh Forum Disability Service Award

The Dick Thornburgh Forum Disability Service award is a $5,000 award available to a University of Pittsburgh student from any campus whose service has made a difference in the lives of children and adults with disabilities.

Candidates for this award may be nominated by a University of Pittsburgh faculty member or staff member or they may apply themselves. The applicant may or may not have a disability.

Applications are being accepted until January 15, 2024.

Congrats to Alison Mahoney!

Alison Mahoney is a University of Pittsburgh PhD student in Theatre and Performance Studies. She researches intersections of performance and disability. Alison’s interests developed out of her professional experience as a theatre-maker, teaching artist, and arts administrator in New York City where her work emphasized accessibility for disabled artists and audiences.
