Elizabeth Orton

Elizabeth Orton is the 2014 recipient of the Dick Thornburgh Prize for Legal Service. During Law School, Elizabeth worked as an intern at the Colorado State Public Defender's Office and also as a certified legal intern for the Family Law Clinic at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. She was a member of the Pitt Law Women's Association, Phi Alpha Delta, and the Pitt Legal Income Sharing. Ms. Orton plans to continue in her career path as a Public Defender.

Governor Thornburgh

The Dick Thornburgh Forum for Law & Public Policy was established in 2007 at the late Dick Thornburgh’s Law School alma mater, the University of Pittsburgh. In conjunction with the Dick Thornburgh Papers held by the University's Hillman Library, the Forum reflects Dick's lifelong work in public service. The Forum is in intended to foster discourse on issues vital to the preservation of our democratic system and the Rule of Law upon which that system depends.
